Quilling paper art by Alia Bright
Alia Bright is a paper artist living in Portland, Oregon and whose work draws on her background in illustration, fine art, and graphic design. Each piece is made solely from paper and glue, used in combination of different weights and stocks. Every strip of paper is first cut to fit, shaped individually by hand, and painstakingly assembled into intricate shapes and forms. Alia Bright’s method eschews the literal approach typically taken with the craft, employing novel line work and abstraction to communicate a unique aesthetic that plays with perspective, shadow, and light.
