Paper artist Marc Hagan-Guirey also known as Paper Dandy, leaved the Head of Design for a Soho based advertising agency to concentrate on a personal project – Horrorgami – that started as a collection of 13 kirigami structures based on haunted locations from film and TV. The exhibition attracted attention from respected news, arts & cultural magazines and websites such as the BBC, Wired, Time out or Creative Review. Marc Hagan-Guirey is now writing a book: Paper Dandy’s Horrorgami and also has continued working on kirigami commissions for both private and commercial clients like Samsung, Procter & Gamble and Decorex International.
Kirigami is a variation of origami that includes cutting of the paper (from Japanese “kiru” = to cut, “kami” = paper).
