"Global Summer" by Yiorgos Kordakis

Yiorgos Kordakis is a Greek photographer who have some intimate relation with the sea. His series of large format Polaroid called “Global Summer” particularly stuck in my mind since 2008. Fascinated by summer holidays, Yiorgos Kordakis wanted to compare the way people enjoy the summer in very different places like the USA, Romania, Greece or India. Always distant from the subject, he looks for some abstract shapes and lights, using tilt-shift and overexposure. Represented by Karsten Greve Gallery (Paris) and M+B Gallery (Los Angeles).

Abstract sky photography by Eric Cahan

Eric Cahan is an artist from New-York city. His fine art photographs are inspired by color and nature. His influences include Mark Rothko, James Turrell, and the Light and Space movement. Eric Cahan believes that “light is not so much something that reveals, as it is itself the revelation.”
The Sky Series are initially captured as sunrises or sunsets. Cahan’s objective is to create a window into a time and a place, and to demonstrate how memories and colors shift and become abstract.
