Record sleeve designer Storm Thorgerson

Storm Elvin Thorgerson was an English graphic designer and photographer, he died 18 April 2013. His name is not very well known but his work for rock bands since the late sixties will remain among the most popular. He was commissionned by bands such as Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Scorpions, Genesis, Europe, Peter Gabriel, Yes, the Alan Parsons Project, 10cc, Bad Company, Paul McCartney & Wings, The Cranberries, Yourcodenameis:milo, The Mars Volta, Muse or Biffy Clyro… A graphic work that was very important at a time people still bought records.
As a photographer and inspired by surrealist painter René Magritte, he said that some of his works beg the question of is it real or not? He was a teenage friend of Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour and in 1968 along with Aubrey Powell he founded the graphic art group Hipgnosis, and between them they designed many famous single and album covers like the famous “Dark side of the moon”. Storm Thorgerson is considered the best album designer of all time.

Eric Weeks, still life photography

Eric Weeks is an American artist who received a MFA from Yale University in 1994. His work involves the contemplation and exploration into the nature of human relationships, while making narrative photographs that reference a wide-range of cultural influences. Eric Weeks did series of photographs of his wife, “World Was in the Face of the Beloved” showing a high level of attention removing all the creative stops.
Eric Weeks features in the permanent collections of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, The Art Institute of Chicago, The Museum of Contemporary Photography and Maison Européenne de la Photographie (France), among others. Also represented by Pablo’s Birthday (NYC), Galerie Hug (France), Jackson Fine Art (Atlanta, GA), and EDS Galeria (México).
