Anna McKay is an artist and illustrator based in Christchurch, New Zealand.
Her work is very female-driven, both visually and in the expressed content, as long as she is a true feminist. She works digitally to create her strong, emotive artwork in the hope of empowering women. Her distinctive style blurs the lines between painting and design. As a thinker and a feminist, each piece is designed to evoke feminine power and strength, while issues like contemporary gender interactions, male dominance and relationship imbalances also make appearances in her diverse portfolio…
Anna McKay curates an art-based blog called The Visual Female. The content is really female driven and can give you more clues to her taste (which is always mutating). Anna is also an occasional art writer and illustrator for Sly on the Wall. She’s a poet too.
